Medjugorje Experience

Ordinary things happen to us each and every day, but sometimes when we compile those ordinary things together something extraordinary happens, and that’s how ended up in Medjugorje. As a colleague and friend began to set up the trip, I continued to ask. myself two questions 1) Am I really going? 2) Why am I going? The answer to the frist question was easy because my friend looked me right in the face and said, “You’re definitely going,” so I came home to my wife that night and said John is not going to let me not go on this trip. The second question was harder to answer. I knew all about the stories of Medjugorje, but I didn’t want to be cuaht up in them. I wanted my own experience, but more importantly I didn’t want to be “let down” if my experience didn’t live up to expectations. Well, it didn’t take long for me to realize Medjugorje is truly special. Randomly throughout the days - somethings during Mass, prayer in the garden, or just talking with my friends - I would feel this overwhelming feeling to start crying. But not tears of sadness or even joy for that matter, just tears because I felt so special for being where I was at that moment. I was told that I was being filled with God’s grace and to listen to the call. When I spoke to people back home who asked me about Medjugorje, all I could say is that I can’’t explain it, but something special is happening there. I could feel that in my core. As my time there was coming to an end, the answer to my second question was clear as day, “Why am I going?” - because God, and more specifically Mary, wanted - no - needed me there.
